Former Chicago and Northwestern RR (CNW) caboose sits on a siding in Racine Wisconsin. This caboose and railroad is currently owned by the Union Pacific RR which aquired the CNW RR in the late 1980's. The caboose is evidently used as part of a track maintenance of way train for the Union Pacific RR. I found it intersting that it still carries it's original CNW livery including a faded logo and message "Chicago and Northwestern Railway, Since 1848, Pulling Together" and a visible construction date, 1953, is still visible on the rear truck assembly.
